As always, great thanks to GO MEDIA for letting me write tee design blogs for them for GO MEDIA ZINE. Tom from Last Thread found me from one of my blogs and contacted me. Sooo we cranked out 3 awesome designs.
Another awesome tee for the mighty Titans!
I been salivating to post this new one. I finished 3 tee designs for an awesome gym in Cleveland/Mentor Ohio over the past few months. I applied a "new" form of selling/gaining a new client. I emailed them, we met, I showed them my stock of awesome tee shirt warfare and 3 tees later...I earned a new client. They requested anything mythological so I started with this guy, Poseidon v. Hydra. 3 colors. And in case you need a new gym check out www.titansgym.com
LAMB OF GOD
Truly awesome! Thank you AGAIN Go Media for including me in on your projects and sending this one my way! I had the opportunity to speak directly with Sony Music on this one..cool!

Yet another image to dominate! This as a fun one. I wanted to let the t-rex "do the talking" and simplify the background. I played around with patterns in photoshop to get dimension within the color.
Here is another fun piece we came up with. Focused Tattoo is all about city wide domination. They have opened 4 tattoo shops and represent some good artists. This piece was pretty straight forward. Soldier running into battle with explosions going on around him. They really want to push color in these so it was a heck of a test to make all this com together.
ALTERNATE DECISION CLOTHING
In late 2011 I received a Facebook email from Dan Conerd about drawing a shirt for his company Alternate Decision. I checked out his line and was curious of what he had in mind. Long story short he wanted a tibute shirt for a buddy of his that passed away in Iraq. I concepted a few ideas and we went with Raven and Scrolls. After a few revisions we settled on this beast.
I also performed a live Facebook unveiling of the ink stage. I was definitely putting my neck on the line. I am confident my work is good, no it's brutally awesome but I never expect this from clients. So you live once, why not. Needless to say Dan loved it and it was a success. Check out the rest of his work at http://www.alternatedecision.com/
THE MIGHTY STAINED SKIN
I couldn't be anymore thrilled than to make the connection with Anthony Dubois and the Stained Skin crew October 2010. I had a great night at a gallery walk and Anthony and I started talking t-shirts. So after months of work and passing these back and forth these will be revealed and sold at Hell City 2011 in Phoenix Arizona. We started with an idea of snakes ripping out of a heart. So typical me throws in the kitchen sink. Thanks to Adam Hendle at Threadbird for all the help getting these printed.
THE MIGHTY STAINED SKIN
Here is their second idea, hand drawn logo. Is this living the dream? I've been eagerly wanting to draw a text logo and here is my chance. Text is tough when drawing your own font!!! So after I drew it I drew over it in Illustrator with forsight that this might be a large banner at some point....Always think about additional uses.
ORIGINAL LUCKY 7
This is for my newest client "Original Lucky 7." We're working on some Rockabilly themes. This is for the female shirt. Keeping things very simple rather than my usual insanity. This was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to doing more Rockabilly.
ORIGINAL LUCKY 7
Male tee. Not too too crazy but with similar elements I've used in the past. Fun shirt. The gray roses at the top will spill over the collar and top of the shirt. I've been thinking a lot about creating depth with t-shirt illustrations.
Here is the male logo for apparel company Natural Order. Evil. This is a four color job. I used half tones and brushes in Illustrator. It's been exciting to figure out how to manipulate spot colors. So this 4 color job looks like an 8 roughly.
Logo done for the apparel line of Natural Order. I've really been fortunate to get work that I love to work on and can't wait to get to the next for this client. This is one of two logos for the company. This is the female version. Happy roses, happy hearts. It's not all brutality for me. So we went through a few versions and got this awesome result. This is a four color project. I really wanted to push the half tones and make a four color job look like a 6 color. I think for the bottom heart there is an overlap of three half tones to create that glowing effect..
CAPITOL CITY KETTLE BELL
This piece has been one of my favorites to work on. Client is a certified Kettle Bell trainer located in Washington D.C. He was totally into the skulls and brutality of my work (those are the best clients!) Anyway, he left it up to my interpretation of what to develop, which was great yet his biggest request was showing movement and portraying the insanity of the exercise...I think we nailed it. I colored it this time in Illustrator and really got into the vector brushes and half tone patters to show dimension and light source... tough challenge.
Third addition to the SS apparel family. Company requested two hands (hand of God and hand of man) coming together about to touch. I had a lot of fun creating this piece by developing ornate patterns a bit more than I have done in the past. This was colored in illustrator, played around with brushes and vector shapes to create light source and tones. (View the making of at SKETCH BLOG..www.steveknerem.blogspot.com)
Comany once again gave me the scripture verse and come up with whatever I felt worked. So for those like me that default to the skull, they weren't down with it soooo...it became a good challenge to discover new elements to draw. Still had fun with this, wanted to create "chestpiece" mocked after a tattooed chestpiece. They were happy with black on tan.

This project was a re-creation of the company's original logo. They requested a hand drawn look with the "CROM" touch. This was an awesome project to be a part of and help a company re-brand their image. Go to SKETCH BLOG to see development of project.
SIMPLY SCRIPTURECompany that produces a shirt line with an emphasis on Bible Scriptures being prominent on the shirt. In other words text first illustration second. I pleaded with them how illustrations are what make the world go around, they disagreed on this but I wanted the job (please understand this was a funny situation) They knew what they wanted but without the skulls and sci-fi craziness, how could I be so tortured, good challenge. Go to SKETCH BLOG to view details of this project.
AUBURNBand wanted crazy alligators. At the time of this project I was drawing a lot of spines and skulls. Kind of looks prehistoric with skeleton.
Company asked for a shirt for their "teen group." Pretty much gave me the reigns. This group's purpose was connecting and helping people in their community.
EMISSARY CLOTHING COMPANYComany liked the creature work I've done and wanted something for their own.
